Add this Nebraska primary result to the list of races I noted in my Daily Journal column today over at Carolina Journal Online.

State Sen. Curt Bromm, Republican speaker of the state?s unicameral legislature, was upended by the surprise insurgency of Jeff Fortenberry, a four-year member of the Lincoln City Council. As speaker, Bromm had led the fight for one of the largest tax increases in Nebraska history. Both were seeking the GOP nomination to replace retiring Rep. Doug Bereuter in Congress. Fortenberry, running with help from the Club for Growth (led by JLF?s good friend Steve Moore), made his opposition to tax increases the main issue in the race.
