The other UNC flagship puts together a panel to assuage worries about what the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob really meant about homosexuality. Panel members include Jimmy Creech; rabbi Raachel Jurovics, the program director at Temple Beth Or, a reform Jewish congregation; Reverend Wanda Floyd, an openly lesbian African-American minister who founded the Imani MCC of Durham; and Reverend Brian Ammons of Pullen Memorial Baptist Church. Remarks from the Christian panelists suggest their Scriptures have been purged of I Corinthians 5 and 6.
Surprising for a university panel discussion, the panelists were in complete agreement about the issue: “Across the board, the four panelists were all supportive of greater inclusion in relation to spirituality.” All in one accord, as it were.
