For those of you who didn’t see it, I was on Channel 11’s Eyewitness News This Week (11’s Sunday morning show) with a rep. from the NC Public Interest Research Group (NCPIRG). We discussed PIRG’s latest scare mongering piece of junk science on air pollution. What was interesting is that the show’s host, Larry Stogner, described the John Locke Foundation as “a conservative watchdog group,” while PIRG, a group that was founded by the apparently non-ideological Ralph Nader, was simply described as “the group that published the study.”

I guess Bernard Goldberg’s observation that in the news media right of center groups are always labeled as such and left of center groups are never labeled at all, holds equally true for the local press.
