This just in: the fatal flaw in homeschooling, the inherent weakness that we all should have detected long ago, has now been identified in a newspaper piece out of Statesville.
Homeschooled kids don’t get snow days.
(Actually, if you read the whole piece, you’ll see a fairly sympathetic treatment of homeschool families, which is increasingly the norm that I see in media coverage of the issue, despite the occasional lapses into “child-neglect-and-by-the-way-the-kids-are-social-misfits” theme.)
