Remember how the book itself didn’t matter, because the presentations would allow for a wider discussion of the issue of low-wage workers in America? Here’s a report on one of those discussions.

Students readily accepted the “living wage” malarkey, then “came to a consensus” that “the U.S. ideal that if an individual works hard enough he will achieve success” was false. Then they “brainstormed” several socialist fixes, which “ranged from subsidizing housing to expanding the use of free bus transportation.”

Discussions were led by a political science professor, natch. The professor, Michele Hoyman, furthered the “discussion” with such scholarly phrases as “Students are one of the biggest agents of change,” “You have the power to change the world,” and “Students sometimes don’t know their power.”
