UNC-Chapel Hill wants to “raise its out-of-state enrollment cap” to 22 percent from 18 percent. In other words, UNC-CH wants to cut an additional 4 percent of slots available to North Carolinians in their public university.

State lawmakers want to add insult to injury by extending in-state tuition to UNC-CH and other UNC schools to illegal immigrants.

If you’ll recall, one of the main selling points of the 2000 higher education bonds was the impending surge in NC students seeking higher education.

Quick math: If UNC-CH’s OOS cap is increased to 22 percent, it would need to increase its overall enrollment by 5.13 percent just to maintain the number of North Carolinians it enrolls.
