The House GOP Obamacare repeal bill, the American Health Care Act (AHCA), has officially been sent off to the Energy and Commerce and Ways and Means committees for markups – one of the necessary steps in the budget reconciliation process for a not-so-different-from-Obamacare health reform to make its way to reality. Meanwhile, the interparty divide over how health reform should take shape remains intense, especially when it comes to reforming Medicaid, the health insurance program that provides medical assistance at no cost for low-income children, adults, and the disabled.
