The Best Spoken Word Album Grammy went to Jimmy Carter for A Full Life: Reflections at Ninety.  This was his second Spoken Word Grammy.  He won in 2006 for Our Endangered Values: America’s Moral Crisis.

Other liberals who have won the award recently include Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, Barack Obama, Al Franken, Bill Clinton, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Jesse Jackson.

I miss the days when great musicians, actors, and artists were recognized for their work in this area.  For example, Orson Welles won three Spoken Word Grammys (1976, 1978, and 1981).
