With the new voter ID requirement taking effect during the March 15 primary, the State Board of Elections has put out a new public service announcement reminding voters that they’ll need to have a photo ID to cast a ballot this year.
It also tells voters what to do if they’re unable to obtain an acceptable ID.
“We all want to be recognized because sometimes we want our voices heard,” the PSA begins. “And we want to recognize you when you come to make your voice heard at the voting booth.”
The State Board of Elections news release announcing the new PSA notes: Photo ID is not required to vote by mail-in absentee, and exceptions are available for voters who cannot obtain photo ID.
