Electricity prices in North Carolina could climb as much as 22 percent in North Carolina because of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Power Plan. The environmental benefits would be almost nonexistent.

Donald van der Vaart, secretary of the newly renamed N.C. Division of Environmental Quality, shared that message during a briefing for the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society. In the video clip below, van der Vaart tallies some of the plan’s costs for North Carolina.
