The latest issue of Money magazine tells us:

Ouch! Employees’ share of medical expenses, defined as premiums plus deductibles, gobbled up nearly 10% of the median U.S. income in 2013, versus 5.3% in 2003, says a new report from researchers at the Commonwealth Fund. And when you factor in workers’ other out-of-pocket costs, such as co-pays and co-insurance, that burden grows even larger.
