As a Democrat, state Rep. Rick Glazier of Cumberland County will spend the next two years in the minority party in the N.C. House of Representatives. Glazier knows he and his colleagues won’t have the votes to drive state policy debates, but he hopes the House can conduct debates with civility and as much bipartisan cooperation as possible.

Glazier discussed themes of civility, service, and leadership during a presentation to the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society. In the video clip below, he shares his views about the importance of civility.
