If you think it’s bad when a company just starts doing business with willing customers without first getting government approval. He links to articles in “progressive” publications that are up in arms over the nerve of Uber to simply do business without jumping through a lot of regulatory hoops first.
It’s enough to make you think that progressives are more concerned with maintaining their vision of law and order than in letting people engage in mutually satisfactory exchanges that save time and money. Mencken said that Puritans were haunted by the idea that somewhere people might be having a good time. We might similarly think that Progressive are haunted by the idea that somewhere people are engaging in unregulated capitalistic commerce.
