Health Care Solutions Week:

When legislators were wrapping up their session in August, they said they would be returning to have a special session about Medicaid reform.  However, when the General Assembly adjourned sine die on August 20, 2014, it signaled they would not return for a special session.

Today the General Assembly sent a meeting notice for a public hearing about Medicaid reform.  Representative Justin Burr and Senator Ralph Hise will be chairing the meeting and attending members are part of the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Health and Human Services, Medicaid Reform/DMA Reorganization Subcommittee.  According to the notice, the meeting will take place on Monday, October 20, 2014 from 9-10am in room 643 of the Legislative Office Building.

Let’s hope some of what they discuss is how to make the Medicaid budget more predictable.

Here is the information regarding the hearing.  If you want to see a full calendar of legislative events that day, click here.
