In this Cato@Liberty post, Roger Pilon points out that the woman who spearheaded Seattle’s minimum wage increase holds a PhD in economics from State.
I’m pretty sure that nobody in State’s econ department taught her that the law of demand does not apply to businesses when they hire workers, or that the Labor Theory of Value is true, or that firms never adjust to changing conditions. I suppose that she held those nutty beliefs before starting her degree and nothing she learned during it dissuaded her from them. I think this shows that it is quite possible to spend years in higher education and emerge as dense as when you began.
