Leftists have been raving about Thomas Piketty’s Capital in the 21st Century, which argues for much higher taxation on wealthy people, including a global wealth tax. This reflects the left’s bete noire about wealth — that it becomes a great danger if people amass “too much.” The state must step in to level things out.

I think it’s just a lame excuse for legal plunder, the term that Piketty’s countryman Frederic Bastiat coined more than 150 years ago. Here is my take on the book.
