Hendersonville was recognized as a ”Great Main Street” by the NC Chapter of the American Planning Association. Granted, every street is probably number-one on some list and last on another. Awards can be a greater reflection of kissing up than actual greatness, whatever that is. BUT, a photographer was able to take a photo between demolitions in this perpetual construction zone, and it is prettier than any watercolor rendering of a Utopia of placemaking presented for board approval. I suppose the successful snapshot has something to do with the fact that the sky and the trees were cooperating.
