USHouse2014election
• At a forum in Asheboro, Rep. Renee Ellmers, R-2nd District, restated her support for a proposal that would allow illegal immigrants to gain legal status but not become citizens. We’re sure to hear more about that during her primary battle against Frank Roche, who opposes legalization.

• Meantime, the ozy.com website, targeted at Millennials, compares 2nd District Democratic contender Clay Aiken to the late Sonny Bono — another entertainer-turned-politician — and suggests Aiken keep his day job.

• Left-wing Washington Post blogger Greg Sargent looks at the U.S. Senate races nationally and says the position taken on Obamacare by House Speaker Thom Tillis, R-Mecklenburg, demonstrates a “repeal problem” Republicans have regarding the health care law.

• Huffington Post published a brief profile of GOP U.S. Senate candidate Greg Brannon.

• The most recent list of candidates who’ve filed for office is here (PDF).
