This morning, I’ve been looking at a new report published by the United Health Foundation looking at health, state-by-state, across America.  America’s Health Rankings, 2013 examines a wide variety of measures in each of the 50 states.  It ranks North Carolina 35th in overall health.  We’re 33rd in obesity and 37th in physical inactivity among adults – not surprising since all three of those would seem to be related.

They’ve been producing this report since 1990, and the website allows you to compare data over time.  A lot of the trends are worrying.  Americans certainly don’t seem to be getting healthier, if this report is to be believed.  There’s a ton of data on dozens of different variables, the site is interactive, and you can even look at the breakdown by age, education, etc.  Definitely worth checking out.

I wonder what impact Obamacare will have on all of this.
