Mention World War II, and most people are likely to think about battles in Europe, the Pacific, or North Africa. But America’s eastern coastline played a key role in the fighting as well, as author Kevin Duffus documents in the book War Zone.

Duffus discussed his book today during a presentation to the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society. In the video clip below, Duffus describes the dangerous conditions along North Carolina’s coastline in 1942.
