Yes, you read that headline correctly.  Felon and former governor Mike Easley is easing himself back into “the game.”

In an Associated Press article, Easley recently commented on a Republican proposal to eliminate class size parameters.  He observed, “You can’t keep the classes small without paying for it and giving flexibility doesn’t pay for it.”  Okey dokey.  Flexibility and funding are two different things.  Got it.

Throughout his adventurous two terms as governor, Easley fought to decrease class sizes by “paying for it,” i.e., throwing money at the state’s public schools.  Of course, the state and national economies were much different then (not to mention the fact that the Democrat ran the show).
