That’s the argument Larry Reed makes in his Freeman column today on the nasty spectacle in Britain after the death of Margaret Thatcher.
The root of the problem is that statists insist that everyone who disagrees with them does so out of evil motives. They think they have a monopoly on concern and thus automatically turn vituperative when someone has the nerve to challenge them.
