I have been criticized for blogging that children are the biggest driving distractions and that, if safety and distractions are truly what the nanny-staters are concerned about, then children, not just talking on the phone, should be prohibited in moving vehicles. Today we’re one step closer to that kind of ridiculous government intervention in the South Dakota town of Huron. Is Chapel Hill next?
The ordinance approved by the City Commission on Monday night also encompasses distracted driving. Mayor Dave McGirr says that includes everything from eating pizza to reading a newspaper while driving.
