The US will default — then what?
In this column, economist Gary North analyzes a recent WSJ article by five “mainstream” conservative economists and concludes that while they correctly understand the mess we are in, they’re too optimistic that we’ll some muddle through. North argues that politics makes it inevitable that we’ll eventually have to default on at least some of the government’s promises.
