Latest dispatches from the campaign trail, September 20, 2012

Better things to do? Three of the four candidates for the 10th and 11th congressional districts will skip a forum today sponsored by the Asheville Chamber of Commerce. Only 11th District Republican Mark Meadows is expected to attend.

Helping out. State Senate leader Phil Berger, R-Rockingham, will attend a fundraiser for Greensboro City Councilwoman Trudy Wade’s bid for Senate District 27.

Get a job. An ad by the College Republicans National Committee laments that many recent grads can’t leave home.

Short but sweet. Col. Oliver North endorses Dan Forest, the GOP nominee for lieutenant governor.

Money talks. A new ad from the National Republican Congressional Committee hits Rep. Mike McIntyre, D-7th, for supporting President Obama’s stimulus law.
