• The contenders for the 11th Congressional District, Mark Meadows and Hayden Rogers, reassure federal employees in the district that they will support no further cuts in compensation for government workers.
• Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan will attend a Raleigh fundraiser Wednesday at the home of developer John Kane.
• The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee hits Republican David Rouzer, who’s running for the 7th Congressional District, for supporting Ryan’s Medicare proposals.
• The Republican Congressional Campaign Committee runs an ad linking Rouzer’s opponent, incumbent Democrat Mike McIntyre, to the Obama’s fiscal agenda.
• The North Carolina Democratic Party unveils its latest “puppet” video involving Pat McCrory and Mitt Romney.
