But there is an easy solution — one that would solve their problem and be good for the economy. All they need to do is pay people to sit in the empty seats. Pay them a lot — say $1 million each, but with the proviso that the money must all be spent before the election, so as to stimulate the economy. All that added “aggregate demand” is sure to help bring the economy out of the doldrums!
