Steve Horwitz on Obamacare
In his Freeman column this week, Professor Steve Horwitz continues his analysis of the so-called Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, another of those bill titles that reflects foolish hopes rather than reality.
Politicizing the provision of medical care in the US won’t have any better results than did politicizing the production of food in the Soviet Union.

Foolish hopes? You guys are just relentless.
I read Freeman’s column. He makes the absolutely idiotic observation that health insurance costs will rise because demand will rise. Clearly he has no clue how the insurance industry works if he believes that.
I could go point by point in his column and show his glaring faults, but what’s the point. You guys already know what you believe–you cherry pick facts to fit the beliefs.
And please stop the stupid mentions of the Soviet Union. Obama is about as moderate of a president as we’ve ever had.
John Locke is turning in his grave.
