Invasive species of the moment: Cogongrass

Which is considered a more serious threat than cogongrass. It grow in dense clumps that choke out other plants, spreads rapidly, has sharp leaves so that livestock can’t it eat, and it’s a fire hazard. First sighted in the state recently in Pender County; the state had a crew on the site to deal with it within hours. The Wilmington Star-News provides more details.
