• Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton distanced himself from Gov. Bev Perdue, the Democrat he hopes to replace, issuing a letter saying that the administration’s attempt to doctor letters to get projects funded by the General Assembly is “no way to conduct business.”

 

• Rep. Mike McIntyre, D-7th, wins the N.C. Troopers Association “Legislator of the Year” award.

 

• Wilmington voters will decide if they’re willing to float a bond measure that would pay for a new minor league baseball stadium to host an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves.

 

• A Rowan County TEA Party forum featured a face-off between 8th Congressional District Republican contenders Richard Hudson and Scott Keadle.
