• Battleground: Presidential campaigns and independent groups spent $1.7 million on ads in North Carolina last month. They spent more in only three other states.
• Rep. Renee Ellmers, R-2nd, and David Rouzer, the GOP nominee for the 7th Congressional District, hold a press conference and fundraiser in Raleigh today with Republican rising star Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers of Washington.
• Contenders for the Republican nomination in the 9th Congresssional District launch ad campaigns against one another.
• John Tedesco, Republican candidate for superintendent of public instruction, links runoff rival Richard Alexander to Gov. Bev Perdue.
