They typically attract less attention than the Federalists who ended up playing top roles in the early days of the new American republic, but Anti-Federalists played a critical role in shaping the U.S. Constitution and limiting the early power of the newly created federal government.

Troy Kickler presented that argument during today’s meeting of the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society. Kickler has referred to the Anti-Federalists as America’s “other” Founders. In the video clip below, he discusses their core beliefs.
