Last month, doing seasonal labor, I viewed many photographs. I saw one of children in a dog cage. I reported it to my superior, as I had been told caging children was somehow correlated to child abuse. My manager said she used to like to sit in a dog cage when she was a kid, and another observer said since the children were doing other things in other photographs, he didn’t think there was a problem.

But then, in the news today, it appears putting children in animal cages is worse than kidnapping.

A Weaverville woman was charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Kristin Nicole Burrell, 30, of Jupiter Heights Road, placed a 1-year-old in a dog case and a 3-year-old in a dog crate on Nov. 12, according to arrest warrants.
Burrell was also charged with two counts of aiding and abetting second-degree kidnapping. She was identified as the parent of the juveniles, according to the arrest warrants.
Her bond was set at $50,000.
