So, not only does Occupy Raleigh believe they are entitled to the fruits of their fellow citizens’ labor through wealth redistribution, at least one member thinks they’re “entitled” to police protection as well:

Almost 30 people have been arrested in Raleigh during two incidents since demonstrations began last month and charged with misdemeanors, mostly for trespassing. Margaret Schucker, 57, of Raleigh, was one of those arrested last week when she remained seated in a camp chair after State Capitol Police asked demonstrators to clear the sidewalk of coolers and other equipment.

Schucker, who identifies herself as disabled, was back out on the protest line Wednesday, this time seated on a sidewalk step and holding a placard that read “Democracy is for people.” She said she appreciates the Raleigh police presence despite her arrest, saying the officers ensure their protection and ability to speak out.

“We’re citizens, too. Most of us have jobs, pay taxes,” she said. “We’re entitled to have a police presence.”

In case you aren’t keeping track of the arrest ratio between the tea party and Occupy Raleigh, I’ll summarize it for you: Tea party, zero arrests. Occupy Raleigh, 30 arrests.

In fairness, those dangerous tea party types were nailed for carrying American flags on polls.
