In one of the new opinions posted today from the N.C. Court of Appeals, a unanimous three-judge panel reversed a lower court and ruled that the former director of plant operations at Livingstone College could proceed with a wrongful discharge lawsuit against the school, even though his initial 2009 complaint was filed a day after the three-year statute of limitations expired.

That final day was a Sunday, and the appellate judges said the law allowed plaintiff David Winston to file his suit by the following Monday.
