Yes, going back years I’ve been telling everyone that UNCC absolutely, positively would have to hike student fees in order to cover its lackluster association with the A10 Conference.
The official cover story is that the 8 percent hike will be needed to pay for a new student union. Super. Just watch the amount of student fee support UNCC athletics receives in the years ahead and tell me if it is larger or smaller. At the same time, watch and see if the amount of money the AD generates on its own shrinks or grows.
You simply cannot understand the football dilemma for UNCC without reference to the fact that the present situation is not a good one.
