Edd Hauser is dropping by Charlotte Talks again on Monday. Oh, what a backlog of questions we have.

First and foremost, did the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce see a draft of the report before it was released? This was strongly suggested to be the plan in Dennis Rash’s March 22nd email sketching out what would happen with the report.

If the Chamber did see the report, did it suggest any changes? What were they and were they made?

Second, why wasn’t the Chamber’s role in originating the report mentioned anywhere in the report itself? As we’ve noted before, the Center’s 2005 report on the economic impact of Charlotte-Douglas Airport cited the Chamber’s request in its introduction. Why the change?

Third, clarify previous statements both to Mary Newsom in early May and to WFAE’s Mike Collins which clearly conveyed to anyone who heard or read them that the study did not have any outside impetus. Also explain how the city council presentation of March 26th could have possible impacted your decision to do the study in light of Rash’s March 22nd email which reports you had agreed to do the study. Was Rash mistaken?

Finally, do you disagree with Assistant General Counsel Jesh Humphrey’s June 13th description that study originated with emails from Bob Morgan? If so, have you contacted Humphrey about that finding and asked for a correction?
