Owners of a Clemmons office park vote down a proposal to rent office space to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s office.

Their (only) reason:

The owners said they were concerned that the deputies do not meet the center’s definition of what kind of professional can rent space there.

Village manager Gary Cooper best sums it up:

“I don’t know why anyone would not want them located in their general vicinity. It’s a deterrence (to crime) and a positive influence on the community.”
